Major Project: Fabric Allocations And Ordering

I was involved with finding fabrics for this project which proved to be a new and unusual challenge due to COVID and lockdown. Meaning we had to source online and wait for delivery which meant we had to start the process much earlier than we usually would.

The Final Front Allocations

We as a group left it slightly to late ordering some fabrics as we spent too long waiting for samples. However it taught me how important sticking to timelines and organisational skills are, as had we followed closer to our original timeline we may not have encountered the problems that we did.

Final Back Allocations

This then meant we didn’t allocate fabrics till much later in the project either. Looking back this should have been one of the first steps we did in order to get our fabrics sooner, Again showing me how important a time plan is. I learnt a lot from one of my tutors during allocating fabrics such as being decisive and understanding weights of fabrics without having to feel them. These are invaluable skills which I will definitely use in future projects.
