Another part of my Major project is designing costumes for a hypothetical. I have chosen the play Lysistrata By Aristophanes. This play and concept is completely different from anything that I have designed for previously. I am hoping to develop my design skills further and refresh my memory on some skills that I have not put into practice for a while.
I intend to improve my illustration skills further by focusing on folds of fabric and shading to create movement within a design, this is a skill that I will definitely be able to apply to future design projects and productions; this is also a skill that i need to improve on so this is the perfect project to develop it.
I will also be practicing my research and adding aspects of historical accuracy which I haven’t had the opportunity to do in a project yet. This ability to research and understand your designs is also a skill that I feel I need to develop and improve on for future projects.
I will be breaking down a script which I haven’t done for a while so I am hoping to fully understand the script and refresh my memory on how to breakdown and script and have it be relevant to my designs, again this is a skill which will definitely come in use in the future. So this is the perfect opportunity to practice and reinforce the skill further.
